Demnate, Azilal, Morocco

A genuine place in Ait Oumghar, 6km from Demnate is the Maison d’Hôtes Dar Tizouit. On our way to the Atlas, It took us two hours (110km) from Marrakesh to be received by a charming Swiss couple, Nadja and Henri who had prepared a very nice dinner. The house of stone with the light pink color lets your spirit get into a serene mood. The natural pool faces the view. On the second day, we walk up early to take a walk to the Grotte Foum Teêleb (natural bridge Imi N'ifri) and back for breakfast before heading to Ait Bouguemz in the High Atlas.

ESSAOUIRA WHERE THE WIND CARRIES US AWAY

It felt as though time had stood still for a day. There’s an air of carefreeness, woven through time. We feel at ease here. The whiteness of the walls dazzles us. The concrete floor seems temporary. We sense the ocean without seeing it. It’s supposedly beyond the dunes. We’ll go there on foot.

On aurait dit que le temps s’était un jour arrêté. Il se dégage un air d’insouciance traversé par le temps. On s’y sent bien. La blancheur des murs nous éblouit. La dalle en béton nous paraît provisoire. Nous sentons l’océan sans le voir. Il est derrière des dunes, paraît-il. On ira à pied.
